Angtoria – God has a plan for us all. Album of the month.

Great work signed by the one who has been and is a collaborator of Cradle of Filth, Therion and Mortiis, Sarah Jezebel Deva and the composers and multiinstrumentalists Chris Rehn, and his brother Tommy.
Angtoria was formed in 2004 to combine metal with orchestral and epic sounds.
Last November they recorded this very expected debut album ’God has a plan for us all’ at Sidelake Studios in Sundsvall, Sweden, with a list of collaborators that gives the creeps: the great Swedish keyboard player Richard Anderson (Majestic, Space Odyssey, Time Requiem), the bass player Dave Pybus (Cradle of Filth), the vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe (My Dying Bride), the drummer Andreas Brojber (Platitude, Space Odyssey), the vocalist Martin Hägsgström (Moahni Moahna, Zool) and the chorus vocalist Tony Könberg.
The engineer Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Soilwork, Behemoth, Messhugah) helped them in the initial stage of the mix with these impressive themes. ‘I’m calling’ is a symphonic metal song which remembers the Renaissance of the 70’s (Sarah is definitely fantastic), ‘Suicide on my mind’ follows a more gothic line and ‘Deity of Disgust’ gives a nearly Arabic-Andalusian touch to the guitars until the splendid melodic line of Deva enters. The orchestral effects are thunderous over the whole album, since the very start with ‘The Awakening’ to the splendid ‘That’s what the wise lady said’, because it happens to be a partially conceptual album. Although the biggest applause is maybe for ‘Six feet under’s not deep enough’. Twelve excellent cuts sounding like heaven of epic orchestral metal.
